Commercial printers, offset packaging printers, and publishers of all sizes looking to add outstanding productivity, quality, flexibility, and ease of use to their operations have a brand new 4-up CTP option—the KODAK MAGNUS 400 III Platesetter. The MAGNUS 400 III Platesetter builds on the success of its predecessor and takes production capabilities to the next level with a streamlined user interface, simpler serviceability, and a reduced environmental impact.

“With this newest model of the MAGNUS Platesetter family, we are addressing the changing needs of our customers and offering them a robust, flexible option that will grow with their business and help them seize the opportunities that exist in today’s market,” noted Kuty Paperny, Director, Global Product Management, Output Devices, Kodak. “Leveraging the best of Kodak’s digital plate imaging technology, this device will make it even easier for our customers to be productive and profitable.”

Designed to maximize press uptime by making the service process simpler, the MAGNUS 400 III Platesetter also boasts support for up to seven language options, an auto-recovery mechanism, and Gigabit Ethernet communication. In addition, the device features modern, efficient electronic components and a power saving feature for when the device is idle.

The new KODAK Intelligent Prepress Manager is a software-based feature that allows full remote monitoring of the plate line for higher productivity and efficiency along with standard and customizable reports that allow better management of the platemaking operation. The MAGNUS 400 III Platesetter offers full support for the KODAK Intelligent Prepress Manager.

Paperny added, “Very fast imaging speeds and a variety of automation options make this device ideal for a growing business. And of course, by using KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates, prepress professionals can further reduce their environmental impact.”
